Baby Phat is a fashion of clothing and some items for girls and women. The fashion is pertaining to the urban area. The creative director is Kimora Lee Simmons. The various products are clothing, footwear, handbags, jeans, purses, cell phones, earrings and some other. Baby Phat was founded in 1991 and the headquarters are at East Brunswick, New Jersey in the United States of America. The brand logo is a sleek cat. As fur and fur trim was used in the clothing, it became an issue of dispute. But, Simmons clarified that the fur of cats that have died naturally is used and did not accede to stop using it in Baby Phat.

The inception

Initially, tiny tees were made to thrill a Phat Farm runway show. Supermodels, Celebrities and tastemakers started wearing these baby tees. Due to this, a trend was established. So, a decision was taken to give rise to a whole Baby Phat sportswear collection. Thus, a lifestyle brand came into existence. It was sexy, sassy and stylish. In a span of less than ten years, Baby Phat became the premier female hip-hop brand, in the fashion world. The inborn feelings of style and an attraction for superior things were the two features Simmons possessed that caused Baby Phat to be ahead in the urban luxury movement.

The success

Baby Phat has the girly ghetto look. There are metallic pink miniskirts, slinky leopard print tops and furry white go-go boots. It has become a favorite of bootylicious celebrities and club girls. Baby Phat now includes outerwear, shoe collection, cocktail dresses and some dresses for babies and kids. The lavish fashion shows of Baby Phat are graced by rock stars and hence appear like an official MTV event. This brand continues to be the prime name in urban girly wear. In 2003, cell phones were brought in the market and in 2005, a perfume was introduced.
